Girlfriends-every women needs a few, but when it comes to women you just never know what you're gonna get. Women can be your biggest cheerleader and hardest critics. They give you the best hugs and the strongest side eyes. Things get even more complicated when a group of women get together. Ree finds herself in the best and worst of female friendships as she tries to juggle family, work and her girlfriends. As a registered nurse, she knows how to keep her life on track and look good doing it. However, that doesn't always appeal to women, especially the jealous ones. Ila, her best friend, sticks by her side but struggles to be the best friend possible as she deals with her own issues at home. One thing she refuses to accept is that the rest of her girlfriend clique isn't fond of Ree. Zantaneek stay busy trying to keep up the appearance of a hot shot lawyer in St. Louis. She's smart, witty and a mess. As a divorced mother of a teenaged daughter, she struggles with her own bitterness and fights, often unsuccessfully, for her daughter's respect. If there was an award for top hustler of the bunch, the honor would go to Del'Feela. She seems unlucky in life with a string of bad men following her and a chaotic place she calls home, where she cares for elderly, ailing mother while feuding with her ill-adjusted siblings. As a housewife, Sharia envies the other women. She often wishes she had their careers and social life, but demands she stay home with the kids every time her husband mentions getting at least a part-time job. As different as they are, the women try to stick together-kicking and screaming along the way. They fight hard and love even harder, but every encounter leaves one saying, C' that's why I don't fool with women.
