A story of an abused and abandoned boy who was forced to live life on the streets of Manhattan, New York as a child. Born in 1929, the year of The Depression, little Charlie struggled to find peace and had lost hope, doomed to live life on the low road. After his father went to prison in 1937 for an unspeakable crime, and after his mother's humiliation sank into the depths of depression and alcoholism, Charlie learned to fend for himself by age nine. He stole his food in order to survive; he was hungry. Can Charlie turn his life around or is he doomed for a life of crime? He wished this wasn't his life. He dove into theater; how fitting.
