Overview
Latvia - former part of the Sowiet Union, now a country still sparsely populated with half of its 2 million inhabitants living in the capital, Riga. If you take the chance to travel there, you will encounter a rural life that reminds of olden times and makes you feel at ease with nature. Most areas are yet devoid of today's ubiquitous super-civilisation. Latvia is a highly fascinating country and year after year more people decided to spend their holidays off the beaten tracks - and are highly rewarded. A few reasons should become obvious after seeing this book. Riga has always been a magnet for tourists, but hardly anybody continues on into the rural areas. Enjoy the vast emptiness of Latvia - it will have been a long time since you were surrounded by so few people.. All texts within the book in English!
