Confessions From A Charmed-Life

Confessions From A Charmed Life is a highly-unusual autobiography that describes what has oftentimes been a difficult life and yet one that could only be considered 'charmed' life in many other respects...This book starts off with three 'prequels' as I like to call them: one on the lives of my grandparents (all four being Sicilian immigrants) and then one each on the lives of my own parents. These are all very fascinating in their own right, but the underlying reason for including them was because I felt it was important for the reader to understand my strong family environment and support system that produced and formed me into the person I am today, 65 years later. After completing the prequels, I then managed to do something that in retrospect proved to be extremely difficult: I documented each year of my life: all the ups, downs, unbelievable 'charmed life experiences' (as I identify them) as well as several near-death experiences where I emerged from each without so much as a scratch. While documenting each year of my life, I also decided to include references to the major news stories of that year to help place everything into historical perspective for the reader. I also did extensive research on my family's archives (I had inherited these upon the death of my mother in 2012) and as a result, this story is a meaty 648 pages that comes complete with 600 photos--visual enhancements of almost every story I'm relating. This is virtually unheard-of in autobiographical publishing today. Most integral to this story is the important fact that in 1985, I'm the guy who became 'infamously known' as 'America's Worst Avid Golfer'. In this truly life-altering event (it turns out. a once-in-a-lifetime tournament sponsored by Golf Digest Magazine) I set a record that has never been exceeded in the entire 565 year annals of the sport! So I am, certifiably, the worst avid golfer to ever pick up a golf club! in history! Following this extraordinary event, I went on to have 25 years-worth of absolutely incredible experiences while crossing paths with many famous individuals; all of which are documented herein; as well as relating an unbelievable, real-life encounter, just two years ago...in my own driveway, no less...with something definitely not of this world. That story alone is quite amazing and it led me to further think, 'How many people have ever experienced something like that?' In reality, there are many mind-boggling stories documented here including several 'pre-cognitive' events where seconds before something potentially greatly injurious or even fatal could have happened to me, I somehow 'see' them before they actually occur! Is it a gift? Or am I possibly being looked-after by a 'guardian angel'? I'll let you decide. Included among these stories is how my wife and I managed to survive a small plane crash in Sedona, Arizona...without so much as even a scratch or bruise. How do you manage that without living a 'charmed life'? I've only touched the very 'tip of the iceberg' in this brief synopsis and believe me, there are tons more amazing stories that I haven't addressed here...hence the unusual but most-accurate title. I also relate many 'TRUE LIFE CONFESSION' alerts (as I refer to them) throughout the story where I let the reader know my innermost feelings regarding various business and even personal situations...even including an 'Animal House'-style encounter during my freshman year of college that not many would dare to relate. But in the interest of 'journalistic integrity', nothing is held back here. As you will soon see, I truly have lived an incredibly 'charmed' but in many other ways, difficult and complex life. But during the course of this book I will also offer 'life advice' along the way to my readers so that they too might have their own lives turn out to be as fulfilling and productive as mine has been.
