Tom's new life brings him unease and misses his previous life while Edward is chased by Tom's evil father. Edward is dragged into a band of thieves and beggars that ravage the region, assaulting people.A brave soldier, Miles, takes pity on Edward and helps him in his misadventures, although he has his own problems. While he was in the war his property titles were taken away and his brother forces his girlfriend to marry him.
