Overview
Described as "brave," "powerful," and "simultaneously personal and political," Circling Toward Home stretches from the Civil Rights-era Mississippi home of an F.B.I. family from Minnesota and tumbles across state lines and social boundaries to the present day as a woman breaks with expectations to locate herself in a world of conflicting messages. Part coming-of-age tale, part lesbian love story, part family drama, this personal account reveals how the narrator's innate curiosity and sense of alienation usher her onto the path of her awakening.
