In a distant future, humanity has built a colossal tower that stretches so high into the clouds that no one knows where it ends, and so deep into the earth that its foundations are lost to time. This tower, known simply as The Spire, is the last remaining bastion of civilization after the outside world became inhospitable.The tower is self-sustaining, with vast greenhouses providing food, hydroponic systems drawing water from deep within the earth, and artificial ecosystems that support a thriving population. The inhabitants of The Spire live in a highly stratified society, with the wealthy and privileged occupying the higher levels, enjoying luxury and access to the elevator that rapidly ascends or descends the tower. They live in opulent homes, surrounded by serene landscapes and pristine environments that gradually fade into the clouds. The air is clean, the sun is always bright, and life is easy at the top. In contrast, the lower levels of the tower are home to the working class-those who tend the greenhouses, maintain the water systems, and ensure that society continues to function.These individuals are relegated to the spiral staircases that wind around the inner walls of the tower, ascending and descending the endless flights of stairs just to reach their places of work. The deeper one goes, the darker and more oppressive the environment becomes, with fewer resources and a sense of claustrophobia creeping in.At the very bottom of the tower, there are rumors of a forgotten, ancient society that once lived there, with strange technologies and abandoned cities now lying in ruin. These whispered stories are dismissed by the higher-ups, but they stir curiosity among the lower classes, who begin to wonder if the tower's true secrets lie buried deep below, and if there's a way to rise beyond the oppressive system they are trapped in.Jack, a young worker in the middle levels, begins to uncover startling truths about the tower's origins-an ancient experiment in societal structure gone wrong.
