This fiction has as its major character, a young lady named Temilola. She lost her parents to the tradition induced battles that confronted them in their marriage. Her father fought to preserve his family with all his power. Unfortunately, at the time he thought he had won the battle, he suddenly fell sick. He died at the time his family needed him most. His death dealt a devastating blow on his wife. Her husband siblings did not help matter. They took all that her husband left for her from her. Survival became a serious problem. The trouble was more than what she could cope with. She too succumbed to the call of death when Temilola just graduated from the university.Temilola had to leave her home town with her little brother and went to Lagos to live with her mother's younger sister. She got a job. The owner of the company, a wealthy but morally bankrupt man, wanted to marry her at all cost. Her refusal to marry him turned her aunt's back at her. Again, for her, life turned sour. The young man she loved was subjected to a lot humiliation by her employer. In spite of this intimidation, Temilola would not let go. The mother of the young man hated her because she saw her as the cause of the trouble her son was made to go through. To Temilola, it was like the kingdom of the world had suffered violence, and with determination and tenacity of purpose, she took it by force.
