Overview
Luke Zane, an FDLE agent and his father, Franklin Delano Zane (known as Rosie) live on a small isle in the Florida Keys. When a young basketball player is executed in his high school locker room, Luke is assigned the case. At the same time, Rosie, a towering, rough and tumble ex-marine is grappling with the challenges presented by Anthony Salinas, a neglected foster child who has come to live with him. The murder investigation swirls through steamy South Florida and combines the misguided efforts of a vengeful father, the scornful attitude of a psychopathic career criminal and the disappearance of a potential witness, a twelve-year-old boy. The successful resolution to an unexpected climax will shake Luke's convictions and test his creativity. Rosie's endeavor is equally important, and his quest to provide Anthony with a loving home and a sense of self-worth provides an optimistic counterpoint to the tragic murder.
