Overview
The land has its connection with a certain family, a pact made long ago between refugees and those who were trapped behind a closed gate. Blood lines are the connection. Only certain ones are acknowledged and permitted to rule and the sentient Land knows who is true royalty and who is only after the power a throne can give. Elena is caught between the forces in this struggle and the powerful men involved, a cousin of the king, a husband who supports the usurper, and the rightful king himself. The future is unclear but she will strive to protect her love and her family.
