After Working a Lifetime to Make a Dream a Reality, Can it Be Discarded in an Instant? It's Thanksgiving of 1969. When Dr. Bridget Castle was a child in three different concentration camps after years of living in hiding, she feared she'd never have a reason to be thankful again. But as the end of the decade approaches, she finds herself grateful for the past several months when the size of her family has more than doubled. Yet, despite her gratitude for those she loves, something is bubbling under the surface, threatening to destroy the life she's worked so hard to achieve. After working double shifts at the hospital for weeks, Bridget is anxious to enjoy a respite with her family at a remote lakeside cabin. But before her much-needed holiday begins, she freezes prior to a surgery and decides it's time to walk away from medicine for good. However, fate has other plans. Will Bridget be able to set aside her feelings of failure, not only to save her family from harm, but to salvage her lifelong dream?
