Overview
This book explores how the application of the ideas and practices of critical geography to curriculum theory might point to new trajectories for both fields. To achieve this aim, the volume offers a grounding introduction to the field of critical geography, making connections to the significant implications it has for education, and provides illustrations of its application to specific educational situations (schools and classrooms). Beginning with a recognition of the importance of the "spatial turn" in social theory and what it offers educational discourse, the text then contextualizes this new scholarly trajectory, and presents international case study research across disparate urban centers.
