Globalisation is a phenomenon which has attracted much attention in the past, but there are still many questions that remain unanswered. This book categorises globalisation into three types: Financial Globalisation The convergence of the US, Europe and Japan to the capitalist system The rise of the emerging nations. The book explores both the light and shadows cast by globalisation, endeavouring to identify both positive and problematic effects of the globalisation process on the world economy. The book firstly examines the nature of world capitalism in relation to globalisation, followed by a discussion of the path along which important nations - first the developed nations (the USA, EU and Japan), followed by the emerging nations (BRICS) - have proceeded under the influence of globalisation.
