Overview
Born in the mid '60s and having grown up in the United States with some stays abroad, Raj Dronamraju has borne witness to the pains of tedious labor, the travesty of a majority of outsiders too often forgotten by media culture, and the delights of the prefect grilled cheese sandwich. Currently teaching English at a university in Malaysia where he lives with his wife, Raj now offers us his marvelous book: THE RETURN OF THE MAGNIFICENT NINNY AND OTHER POEMS. This work marks a critical self-examination with an attempt to forge a sane perspective in an at times almost hopeless, possibly mad world-but it also finds promise in learning to improve perceptive powers; demonstrating to us how we can refine the soul rather than accumulate material and mental baggage on a trip to who we really and already are. This profound book of 50 interrelated poems is filled with humor in the face of despair with much wisdom in and in-between the lines.
