Overview
Have you ever pondered the depths and subtleties of the letters and words that so casually run through our minds, mostly ignored, but when examined often reveal our feelings, motives and our sense of self? These mysteries are brought to life by our writer who reaches for his muse, literally, through letters and words to create the protagonist's story. After an auto accident leaves Kyle Wilson, a cynical librarian, trapped in a coma, he finds himself, in a dreamlike trance, surrounded by giant letters who, by forming words significant to his views on life, force him to re-examine his past, future, and his place in the world. Floating in and out of a comatose state with little hope of ever regaining consciousness, a spell-bound Kyle confronts the psychodynamics of his childhood and the personalities that helped shape it. Slowly, his cynical perspective fades as he makes the circuitous journey from obtuse to observant, with the guidance of the words in his life and ghosts from his past. Starring an eccentric, lively cast of characters, from FAITH, RELIGION, PHENOMENOLOGY and HERESY to MUSIC, TEENAGER, CANVAS, and ENLIGHTENMENT, to name a few. Niles takes us on a wild ride, from the Land of Letters to the Land of Words and on to other realms.
