The author has amassed a bounty of information about Wrights in southern Virginia; sources include church and circuit court records. This material has been separated into sections by county and by type, making it an efficient and organized resource for Wright family researchers. The information in this volume has been extracted from censuses and varies with each decade, the earliest providing only the name of the head of the family and listing the age and sex of the other occupants, and the number of other free persons or slaves. Later records go into much more detail, including names and relationships of all members of the family, ages, occupations, place of birth, year of immigration, etc. A most helpful feature for each entry is the "identification" column, in which the author identifies the specific family and Wright ancestors from whom the named Wright descends. All names are indexed.
