This is the fourth in a series of personal property tax records. This volume covers the years 1852, 1855, 1858, and 1860-1862; as well as totals for all years and, as an addendum, lists for Free Negroes for 1853, 1854, 1856, and 1857. It is interesting to note the variation in tax rates during this period.
