Overview

Take a gargantuan step up from Reading Buddies and you'll get Language Buddies -an older buddy leads a small group through an interactive activity. ELLs get personally involved with review lessons, 'missed skills' activities, and speaking in context. The dynamic is such that both the language buddy and ELLs see progress from the engagement with socially interactive activities. The Language Buddies program supports teacher instruction as well as student learning. This resource book is essentially a professional guide to how the program works, what it looks like in action, how to do it step-by-step and it provides forms that teachers may wish to use for tracking and recording purposes. The book concludes with a variety of activities that offer ideas for activities. The Language Buddies program is useful for ELLs in JK-SK, Primary, Junior, Special Needs classes and as Curriculum adaptations for ELL students.
