Throughout history, novelists have used poems or songs or quotes from other sources to provide mood or context for an entire book, a chapter or a section. It seemed like a natural progression to actually compose and perform my own music as part of the process. The soundtrack sets the tone for this tale of a centuries-old clash of religions and cultures bubbling back to the surface of history.
