Overview
After discovering her grandfather's military trunk in the attic, Jamesyn is overwhelmed by exciting new concepts. She'd never thought about freedom, war, the military or patriotism. After a yummy lunch with her mom, in the attic, Jamesyn emerged with a working knowledge of why the military exists, what they accomplished and the liberties we enjoy thanks to our veterans.Filled with love and pride for her grandfather and all her military family members, Jamesyn's mom agrees not not only to let her set up her "Freedom Office" in the attic so she can continue her learning.Author, Hilary Reddy, sensing a deep lack of patriotism in our school aged children, due to a lack of education, appreciation and reverence for this country, set about introducing these notions EARLY."This country is in trouble due to too many generations of this apathy for the United States and disdain stemming from anti-American sentiment taught in school," says Hilary. If you've HAD it with America hating citizens who are LUCKY to live in the greatest nation on earth, share this book with the littles in your life. An early sense of patriotism will help shape our future leaders.
