Overview
1999. Recently-retired former Detective-Inspector Penny Sanderson has time on her hands and decides to solve the mystery of her father's disappearance, after being parachuted into France in 1943, before she was born. Nothing was heard from him again. She is joined in her quest by Geoff Pearson, a man with a mysterious past of his own, who says he is researching his own father's wartime work. But is Geoff all that he seems? Penny learns that her father's mission was to locate and identify a traitor, responsible for the arrest and execution of many resistance members, and the file is still open. In France, apparently unconnected, there is a saga of betrayal, murder, romance and Neo-Nazi politics, stretching back to World War 2 and approaching its culmination.
