Overview

The simplicity with how digital content can be shared online has created a number of challenges for today's youth and their parents. All too often, kids are uploading and publishing content without thinking about all of the people who will see it, how it might be perceived, and the resulting long lasting consequences. The Internet is here to stay. However, posts and uploads are often made in seconds, while consequences can last for years - both positive and negative. NETWORKED YOUTH: What Every Parent Needs to Know About Online Behaviour provides a range of examples in the ways that today's youth are experiencing the frequently overlooked, and unanticipated negative consequences, of their online behaviour. Written from the perspective of a High School Principal, this book uses practical examples in order to help empower parents in becoming more proactive in guiding their kids. The messaging addresses several insights, including unintended consequences, strategies to help guide decision making, and the skills necessary to maintaining a positive online image.
