Overview
A Battle More Desperate is set during the Battle of the Bulge, December 1944, the greatest and bloodiest pitched battle ever fought by the U.S. Army. Against this epic backdrop, the story revolves around on small squad of parachute infantry in the 101st Airborne Division and their reactions to a new replacement, Private Joe Anderson. Joe is a former ministerial student. Because he's a dedicated Christian, he stands out to them as something odd and the members of his squad nickname him "Holy Joe." Through snow and suffering during the Siege of Bastogne, Belgium, Joe proves himself in and out of combat and gains the friendship and trust of his other squad members.
