Overview

While volunteering with Doctors for a Better World, at the Raul Mesa Carreras Eye Hospital in Havana, Cuba, an American doctor is brutally murdered in his hotel room. Less than twenty-four hours later, Adam Grant, director of the newly formed Select Home for Operational Personnel (SHOP), receives news of the suspicious death. SHOP's purpose and Adam's responsibility is to forge cooperation and provide support to agencies within the U.S. federal government that deal with international relations and law enforcement inside and outside the United States.
