Overview
This pack of wild dog poems-specifically about poodles and poodle mixes, although applicable to most breeds-skewers oodles of adorably outrageous dog behaviors. Even those rugged four-footed furry friends who would never admit to associating with a doodle have been known to exhibit most of these crazy canine conducts. Using various poetic forms, including haiku, limerick, acrostic, diamante, free verse, and rhyming couplets, poet Leslie C. Halpern shares humorous universal truths about man's best friend in Poodles & Doodles. Unlike ravenous pica-prone puppies who will eat anything, for us, the truth can sometimes be hard to swallow. Including poems about poodles, schnoodles, cockapoos, labradoodles, whoodles, goldendoodles, Aussiedoodles, and dogs in general, this light-hearted poetry will help make those realities about being a dog owner more palatable for readers of all ages. Central Florida author Leslie C. Halpern has won numerous awards for her writing, including First Place Humorous Poetry Award from the National Federation of State Poetry Societies and the Editor's Award for Poetry from the Gwendolyn Brooks Writers Association of Florida. She is president of Orlando Area Poets.
