This book is written against a background of deep personal loss and challenge. The author was a bi-vocational pastor at a church in Ohio and worked as a licensed professional Nuclear Safety Engineer. Complications from cancer caused him to become permanently disabled. He struggled to find God's will for his life in his new life situation. He came to the realization God's will for everyone is the same. God's will for our lives is not to do anything, but to be who He created us to be. God created humanity for only one purpose, to be His "Image" of God. This is God's will for our lives in His own words. God does not desire us to do His work. God wants to do His work through His "Images" of God. The author has a Master of Divinity degree and an undergraduate degree in physics. He uses his understanding of the physics discipline of optics to show what it means to be an "Image" of God. The same God who created the universe, created the laws of physics that make the universe operate. This includes the laws associated with optics. The same laws of optical imagery that govern physical sight can be used to gain insight into spiritual sight. We live in a world of images. Our sight is based on our eyes capturing images.
