Rare Poems of the Seventeenth Century

Literary history can often be guilty of focusing too much on famous poets of a particular period, resulting in an unbalanced view of an era's literary style and output. Originally published in 1936, this book attempts to provide a more nuanced picture of poetry in the seventeenth century by collecting the work of some lesser-known poets, including several poems written by women. This book will be of value to anyone with an interest in British seventeenth century poetry and in under-appreciated poets.
