Overview
The purpose of this paper is to examine those operations of World War I, from which tactical lessons pertaining to the use of tanks or the defense against tanks, can be logically deduced. Topics include Somme operations in 1916, the British spring offensive of 1917, the Battle of Ypres, Cambrai, Soissons, Amiens, the anti-tank plan of defense after the battle of Amiens, Bapaume, and the use of tanks by the French from battle of Soissons to the Armistice.
