Overview
The summer of 1941 is still a peaceful time in the United States. World War Two has not yet reached America's shores and the American public is immersed in the Golden Age of Baseball. Joe DiMaggio and Ted Williams smash the record books - Williams slugs his way to a .406 batting average while DiMaggio hits safely in fifty-six consecutive games. Over Memorial Day, Williams and DiMaggio face each other in a double header in Fenway Park. DiMaggio quietly extends his hitting streak to sixteen games. Or does he? In 2005, one year after the Boston Red Sox wins its first World Series in 86 years, Theo Epstein, General Manager of the Red Sox, is handed a piece of Baseball's past that could jeopardize DiMaggio's record.
