Overview
Picture it. 1992. Guam. USS White Plains, AFS-4. In what was to become the pivotal election year in the history of the gay community, the military, the country, SK2 James Cole tells the story of how the underground gay community serving in the military had to survive with the hope that those in uniform, who desired nothing more than to serve their country, could finally do so -- as themselves. No more gestures. No more code language. No more pretending. No more hiding. Funny, poignant, unbelievable, bittersweet. James presents the true meaning of the most-used code word of the time: Family.
