Overview

CHINCOTEAGUE PONY TALES: Volume V In this fifth book of inspirational tales about the Chincoteague Ponies, hear about how a Chincoteague Pony named Dreamer inspired a young girl to become a rodeo queen. Hear how a Chincoteague Pony named Blessing traveled across the United States to compete with her young rider in the National Polocrosse finals. Hear the story of a young Saltwater Cowboy and how his life inspired someone to purchase a foal and name it in his honor. Then, learn about a wild pony on the refuge who stared down swamp cancer and - against all odds - beat it, to return to the Chincoteague National Wildlife Refuge and to her family of wild ponies. Meet a beautiful splash pinto named Twinkie who traveled as a foal to Tennessee. There, he would grow up to teach many children how to ride. He would visit school students to share the story of the legendary Chincoteague Ponies, and then, he'd return to the island with his owner to ride on the beach where he was born. Find out how some of the island's wild Chincoteague Ponies got their names, and then learn about the bricks in front of the Misty Statue on Main Street, Chincoteague, and why many ponies are honored there.
