Overview
Memoirs of Mary Wollstonecraft is a biography written by William Godwin, the husband of Mary Wollstonecraft. Mary Wollstonecraft was an 18th-century British writer, philosopher, and feminist who is best known for her book A Vindication of the Rights of Woman. The memoirs were published in 1798, shortly after Wollstonecraft's death, and provide a detailed account of her life, including her childhood, education, literary career, and personal relationships. The book also explores Wollstonecraft's political views and her involvement in the radical movements of her time. Godwin's memoirs were controversial at the time of their publication due to their frank discussion of Wollstonecraft's personal life, including her romantic relationships and her illegitimate child. However, the book has since become an important historical document and a valuable resource for scholars studying the life and work of Mary Wollstonecraft. This scarce antiquarian book is a facsimile reprint of the old original and may contain some imperfections such as library marks and notations. Because we believe this work is culturally important, we have made it available as part of our commitment for protecting, preserving, and promoting the world's literature in affordable, high quality, modern editions, that are true to their original work.
