Overview
""A Reply To A Pamphlet Entitled, Bondage; A Moral Institution Sanctioned By The Scriptures And The Savior"" is a book written by John Jacobus Flournoy. In this book, Flournoy responds to a pamphlet that argues that slavery is a moral institution sanctioned by the Bible and Jesus Christ. Flournoy, on the other hand, argues that slavery is a violation of human rights and dignity, and that the Bible does not condone it. He provides a thorough analysis of the Bible passages that are often used to justify slavery and argues that they are taken out of context. Flournoy also discusses the history of slavery and its effects on society, as well as the moral and economic arguments against it. This book is an important historical document that sheds light on the debates surrounding slavery in the United States in the 19th century. This scarce antiquarian book is a facsimile reprint of the old original and may contain some imperfections such as library marks and notations.
