Overview
Bergson and Education is a book written by Olive A. Wheeler and published in 1922. The book explores the philosophy of Henri Bergson and its implications for education. Bergson was a French philosopher who believed that intuition and experience were more important than rationalism and logic in understanding the world. Wheeler argues that Bergson's ideas can be applied to education, particularly in the areas of creativity, freedom, and individuality. The book examines Bergson's theories on perception, memory, and time, and how they can be used to develop a new approach to education. It also discusses the role of the teacher and the importance of creating a learning environment that encourages students to think independently and creatively. Overall, Bergson and Education is a thought-provoking exploration of how philosophy can inform and improve educational practices. This scarce antiquarian book is a facsimile reprint of the old original and may contain some imperfections such as library marks and notations.
