""Let a child open the covers of this book, and straightway he is in the land of all delights - Fairy Realm."" The Book of Elves and Fairies - Written by Frances Jenkins Olcott is abound with delightful accounts of elfin mounds and fairy hills. Here all ages can enjoy fables of little men and treasures of gold, fairy servants, and spirits of water, forest, and meadow. Nearly 50 charming fairy tales and fantasies gathered from Scotland, Ireland, Sweden, China, and other faraway places are retold in this beautifully illustrated book. Milo Winter (1888-1956) was an American illustrator of the Golden Age, who illustrated dozens of books throughout the 1910s, 20s and 30s and served as the art director of the Childcraft series. He was a master of animal drawings, which he could render anatomically accurate to the last detail. Other popular works containing his illustrative works include: 'Aesop's Fables for Children', 'Twenty Thousand Leagues Under the Sea', 'Alice's Adventures In Wonderland' and 'Through The Looking-Glass.' This book forms part of our 'Pook Press' imprint, celebrating the golden age of illustration in children's literature. We are working to republish these classic works in affordable, high quality, colour editions, using the original text and artwork so these works can delight another generation of children.
