Overview

Was America founded upon Christianity? What is the Biblical relationship between the believer in Christ and American politics? Does God call Christians to win the culture? Should they join the military? Should they celebrate America's heritage? Does the New Testament endorse violent self-defense? "Christ and America" answers these questions by applying hundreds of Bible references to the birth of the United States and the characteristic political philosophies that continue to permeate the Church in America today. It explores, from a Christian standpoint, "In God we Trust" on U.S. currency, "one nation under God" in the pledge of allegiance, the public posting of the Ten Commandments, the Declaration of Independence, the Constitution of the United States and the expressed faith in Christ of America's founding fathers. "Christ and America" Biblically evaluates the attitude and behavior of the American Patriots toward rival believers, rival unbelievers, Government, Native Americans, African Americans, Loyalists and Quakers. The Scriptural conclusions may be surprising! Fueled by these conclusions, "Christ and America" examines American patriotism, political activism, democracy, the military and self defense from a Biblical perspective. I encourage you, dear brother or sister in Christ, to "prove all things" and "test the spirits whether they are of God". If you prayerfully resolve to follow in the Lord's steps and keep His words, this book could forever change your view of America, the Christian faith and even your daily walk with Christ.
