Overview
On the day she turns eighteen, Cadence Harper runs away from home to escape her abusive stepfather, and winds up at the Jersey Shore. With nowhere else to go, she spends the night at an abandoned church, only to wake up facing a mysterious gunman. The bullet he fires into Cadence hurtles her back to 1897 and straight into the arms of Jacques Brideau, a handsome singer who was popular long before her time. Cadence discovered his records at a flea market and harbored a crush on him, but she thought he was killed in a plane crash. He was actually kidnapped by the Voyagers Guild, a time travel cult whicn has now claimed her as its newest victim. As Jacques and Cadence fall in love, they dodge constant threats from every corner. Not only does Cadence have a poisoned bullet lodged in her body; Dr. Miranda McCleague, the Guild's diabolical leader, wants Jacques for herself.
