Overview
How could John and Sheila know that their Christmas vacation would be so far from ordinary? At twelve-years-old, their lives were soon going to become heavily entwined in the most dangerous of adult situations, murder and cover-up. If John's parents thought moving to the country would be a safe place to raise children, or Sheriff Stark thought Seacliff would be perfect for semi-retirement, they were about to be proven wrong. With the Gordon's living nearby, and their having connections to the mob, anything could happen. And would. As everyone would soon discover after John and Sheila witness Billy, the mailman's, murder and cover-up. Will Sheriff Stark be able to keep the two amateur deputies safe as he tries to bring the murder to justice? Or will John and Sheila's constant snooping in places where they shouldn't be get them all killed?
