Overview

There are three aspects to winning in any sport. Judo especially, along with the other martial arts is particularly demanding in all three areas. Technique and technical ability are at the forefront and determine the nature of each sport. Conditioning is another factor and is especially important in a contact sport and is what the first edition of this manual was intended to convey. The third element and one that is an integral part of any world class athlete's tools is a winning mentality. This includes everything from strategy to awareness, adaptability, and the final quantity that makes a winner, confidence. Most publications deal with the techniques of their sport, but this one fills the void to having success with those techniques and is the final piece to fill the puzzle that makes a champion. Edmund Fellmeth is a National Certified USA Judo Coach, a World Master Judo gold medalist, four times National Masters Champion, and assistant coach to the 2002 USA Ju-Jitsu team to the World Ju-Jitsu Championships in Punta Del Este, Uruguay. Coach Fellmeth has helped many young athletes attain success on the mat and inspired students in endeavors off the mat as well.
