First read some great poets, such as, Shakespeare, Byron, Keats, Shelly, Edgar Alan Poe, Henry Wadsworth Longfellow. Two of my favorite poems include "A Dream within a Dream," by Edgar Alan Poe, and "A Psalm of Life," by Henry Wadsworth Longfellow. Poetry opens the soul and allows you to express pent-up feelings and life experiences - go for it!
