Overview
The year is 1941. The place, Nazi-occupied Western Europe. Here, the thought of a German and a Jew together seems absurd, but not to young Elisabeth Amsel. When her eyes meet those of a boy who runs the local kosher market, she embarks on a quest for love and reason during a period of time in history where neither ideal leaves even a trace to be found. This is fiction, but this is history. And as for Elisabeth and Jakop, this is their story and how they found a way around it.
