Overview
Love is all around us, and often adds meaning and beauty to our lives. But the role of love across our lifetimes is often more complex than just this-it can also be confusing, even painful. Sometimes we don't recognize love when it is right in front of us, and other times we think it's there when it's not. This fourth collection of short stories approaches the topic of love from a variety of perspectives, good and bad, that always keep the reader guessing and wanting to read more. Through Dory, we not only get the happily-ever-after story-we also get the where-did-it-go-wrong story. We negotiate the conflict between love for a friend and love for a spouse. We consider the bodily attractions so often confused for love, and the harm they can cause. And we reflect on the joys of love for oneself. The complex and varied engagements with the idea of "love" across contexts makes this a compelling and thought-provoking book that readers can both commiserate with and celebrate with. And, like all of Dory's stories, it is sure to be both a source of enjoyment and an opportunity for growth as we reflect throughout on the most important love of all-God's love.
