Overview
Silence. That's the word I have known all my life. My sister knows it and hears it. I want to hear silence, but that isn't the world we live in. Loudness and softness is what we all want. Not me. My sister is lucky as I say. She only hears silence. I hear everything else. She asks me "What does the world sound like?" I look at her and say "it sounds like nothing you can describe." I can't say that to her. No. I have to sign it to her. Yes, that's right. My sister is deaf. Everyone feels sorry for her - I don't. Soon I will have my wish of silence. I know I will.
