Overview
This dissertation examines over 1300 educators' expectations for African American males in a Tennessee urban school district. Dr. Terrance Haynes reports the results of this study, which contradicts some long held beliefs that educators have low expectations for these young men, and the belief that educators' race effects expectations for these young men.
