Overview
In the latest collection of short-stories titled, (History, Mystery and Treasure) Vicki capably shows the enduring human spirit through the historical timeline from the Aztec Era to the more recent- Fort Knox time; the persistent spirit when receiving mysterious clues, maps, markers and legends- only to see them cloud-up and turn to a mirage; the never-say-die spirit as the treasure is lost, found and lost again, thus remaining so. Her deft writing of wide and varied characters: a praiseworthy Nephite who dispenses critical advise; two young miners who stumble on not one but two fortunes, only to be led back home by a steadfast Indian who assures they arrive alive- and with empty pockets!; a group of women, elected to run Kanab, started as a prank, but run an admirable tight ship. These are just a few of the folks that you'll encounter in these rich tales. Be prepared, as you finish the book, to buy maps, shovels and picks.
