The Writings of the Bible include Psalms (Songs or Hymns), Proverbs (Sayings), Job, Song of Solomon, Ruth, Lamentations (Mourning Song), Ecclesiastes, Esther, Daniel, Ezra, Nehemiah, and Chronicles. This part of the Hebrew Bible includes the devotional and wisdom Scriptures of Israel, and some historical and prophetic Scriptures as well. Chronologically late literature, which is not poetic, is placed in the Writings in the Hebrew Canon.
