Overview

This book covers a wide number of topics for both students and academic staff in higher education (colleges and universities). Topics for students are intended to make them better learners, how to cope with their new environment and how to study and to pass examinations. The topics for academic staff will guide them into becoming better teachers in higher education. Guidelines are provided on a diversity of matters such as lecturing to large number of students and to small groups. Also, there are few chapters covering the assessment of students as well as the assessment of teachers' performance. The teaching portfolio is meant exclusively for teachers while the chapters on reading and writing, among others, are intended both students and staff.
