Overview
Hundreds of quotations from famous people of the past are incorporated into the dialogue between twelve very interesting and unique characters as they travel and explore and fend off dangers, giving this story an incredible richness and campy comedy. These quotes are footnoted at the end of every chapter offering educators a fine forum for discussion with students about history, literature and the arts. The story centers around a young girl who is swept away in a great flood and then must find her way home with the help of new friends she makes along the way. Her adventure is symbolic of a girl's first steps into adulthood. She learns to call on her own inner strengths and talents, self confidence and self reliance.
