Overview
A massage therapist leading a contented and mundane life in San Francisco, Mason Freestone enjoys a thriving business and great relations with his friends and family. But a bizarre and sudden change to his holistic healing ability now allows him to enter people's minds, making him feel as if he's been physically teleported to a different place. He quickly learns that his consciousness gets transported to his client's soul and mind center: a person's Spirit Core. With access to such an intimate psychic plane, Mason is able to heal people at an extraordinary level, such as returning people with dementia to a sound mental state. Liam Woodhouse, a wealthy humanitarian, learns of Mason's unique power and recruits him to use his ability for social justice causes. All seems well initially, but Mason soon discovers that the mind work that he and Woodhouse perform on others have unanticipated effects, not all of which are good.
