Overview
Far From the Tree is the story of Jane Macharia, a mother of two boys from Kenya, and events that subsequently led them to relocate to Texas. Jane and her two sons escape death narrowly after a fire ravages their home. Now her husband is gone and she struggles to come to grips with reality of being jobless and penniless. Will she pack her bags and go back to her native land? Or will her faith remain strong when the going gets tough? She vows never ever to fall in love again, but when she meets an old acquaintance Tim Gitonga, will she have a change of heart? She is still haunted by her mother's words, that character is a reflection of one's parents and that the tree is known by its fruit. Now she understands the consequences of being unequally yoked. Does the apple fall far from the tree?
